On 30 March, the GET REHDY project was officially launched together with the steering group in Leuven.
The kick-off meeting consisted of two parts. The first part delved deeper into the project and how the technical, legal, and organisational work packages form the backbone of developing tools, workshops, and other resources to give the wider health sector a head start in implementing the EHDS (European Health Data Space). We emphasised the interactions between the work packages, the role of the steering group members, and how this expertise and these networks can reinforce the GET REHDY message.
The message was clear: if we want to make progress with health data for research, innovation, and better care, we must value health data. We can achieve this by ensuring high-quality data and correctly implementing the regulatory framework to make your organisation ‘EHDS-ready’.
In the second part, we explored these three dimensions in greater detail during a workshop: we examined which technical, legal, and organisational aspects present the greatest challenges, as to steer GET REHDY in the right direction. Key themes that emerged included: the interplay of regulations, challenges surrounding IP and business models, various aspects of data quality, and different levels of EHDS maturity and knowledge.
With such an enthusiastic group, GET REHDY got off to a flying start.
